Hereunder, you find FDC celebrating 75th anniversary of Katyn massacre. The stamp presents The Broken Eagle- from the Polish soldiers' cap.

In the spring of 1940, ther Russian political police NKWD, according to the decision of Stalin, killed at least 21 768 citizens of Poland. Among of them there was more than 10 000 officiers of Polish army and Polish police and the Border Guard. More than 7 000 were civil citizens (mainly high civil servants, physicians, lawyers, scientists, etc... "The Katyn massacre" is the general definition of this war crime, because these people were killed in several places in Soviet Union, not only in Katyn.

Roman translated also poem on cover.

In such moment like this - I want to be alive...
Everything is not important - only to exist ...
But good Lord did not give me any choice;
I am at the end of my ways ...

They ordereed to go out ... Is it here ?
This birch-forest - it'is my grave ...
I only sight, one more time ...
Only the last though: I love you ...

words and music by Lech Makowiecki (comptemprary pet, musician, composer)
