CLUB ACTIVITIES – HOW IT WORKS

The London Cover Circuit is an international club for cover collectors. Members are spread all over the world in more than 100 countries. Founded more than 30 years ago in England, its object is to promote contacts and friendship among philatelists.
Contacts are established between members via a form called a circuit”. This is not a chain letter , but an activity reserved only for members of the L.C.C. All a member must do is simply forward a circuit to the member whose name follows his/hers on the list. Between members covers must always be of a philatelic nature, that is to say :
with commemorative stamps, large format, or mini-sheets
with a hand cancellation , or if possible a special post mark such as on a First Day Cover ( FDC)
In other words, you send the sort of cover that you would like to receive yourself.
The circuits are prepared by OMs (Originating Members). These are chosen from among the best members by the directors of the club. At present there are 28, spread over the 5 continents. Any member of the club may become an OM providing he/she meets the following requirements:
to have been a member for more than 2 years
to be able to correspond in English which is the official language of our club
to accept the rules specific to OMs
The L.C.C. is foremost a cover collectors’ club. However, stamps are often included with circuits for an exchange on the basis of 1/1. If you are interested in the stamps enclosed with the circuit, you may take them and replace them with others - the same quantity of the same quality. Circuits are prepared by the OMs
taking into account, where possible, the wishes of each member. Thus, they are an opportunity to make contacts, and sometimes lead to fruitful direct exchanges between members, especially where thematics are concerned.
A member will continue to receive circuits for as long as he/she complies with the rules of our club.
How to become a member
You must be over 18 years old. Admission is only accepted if the new member proves that
he/she can send a correct philatelic cover.
Thereafter , an annual gift to headquarters , in any form, is requested to help with administration costs.
An example of a membership form is shown hereunder. The lower part of the form enables us to know
exactly what our members are looking for, and helps OMs to prepare circuits according to the wishes of members whenever possible.
